ah…

So, I was all prepared today to whip up a post about how annoying ones roommate’s girlfriend can be…especially when he is at work, and she is at home watching TV on my entertainment system, when all I want to do is play Halo2 after i get off work….then my Mom called to let me know that a pretty decent friend, not a close friend mind you, but someone whom I have known for a very long time, has passed away today.
I don’t want to get into details as to how or why it happened, that’s for the police and God to sort out, but let it be said that it was sudden, and random. Ah……..fuck it.
She was in a car accident today. Sometimes I wonder if we shouldn’t just fuck it and return to the stone age when the worst thing you could do traveling was stub your toe.
Anyway it’s stuff like that, that really puts life into some sort of perspective….that my stupid guilty pleasures (Halo2, blogs, podcasts…not the graphic stuff you people are already thinking about) really aren’t that important. I mean, stuff like the horrendous loss of life southern Asia should have the same affect on me, but it’s hearing about the death of a friend, especially one I used to have fun joking around with that makes me stop and think.
I know it’s been said a thousand times by every other website, news org, podcast, blog and the like this past couple weeks, but lets all take a step back and realize that every person over in Asia that passed away via the Tsunami tragedy was someones middle school friend.
That being said, I had a couple ideas on music distribution systems that coffee shops and the like would benefit from, but today’s not the day, maybe next time.
until then….courage :)
