sometimes things are hard…

I hate things that suck. Why is it then whenever I need something to actually not suck….it sucks? Take Copy Co. for example. It’s a relatively local printing service that I try to support due to my love of local companies….except for when they suck…then I can’t stand them.

I was trying to get some fliers printed for an upcoming Apple event on campus. No big deal, figured I’d just bring in the PDF and print it off on one of their machines. However, it became a hassle.

First off, I love the Macintosh. It doesn’t matter which version of the OS, running on what machine, I love it. Copy Co. has an original iMac (probably a 233) with very litte ram (forgot to check how much exactly) that was running slow as hell, which made me sad to see a great machine not properly cared for. I couldn’t do anything on it, the finder was even slow. So when I uploaded my 22 meg PDF the machine came to a grinding halt. It took at least 5 minutes to load, oh and did I mention they charge you by the minute for “computer usage.”

So i finally go the image up, and printed. I checked my results and the colors were terrible. Not only that, but the not so friendly staff told me that that is all the better the colors could get…and that I would have to pay for the prints regardless.

Needless to say I won’t be taking my business there anymore.
