Life, or something like it

May 13th, 2005 | Filed under Life

Okay, I’m not generally one for being all sentimental and shit…oh wait who am I kidding!

Sorry it has been so long, but the preverbal storm is over!

Tuesday night was the end of my campaigns class (see enclosed photo). Ya like that business speak?? See I did learn something in college. Anyway, for those uninitiated, Campaigns is the end all be all class in which you create a real-life advertising campaign for a real company. Lets just say that it gets very specific, so much so that our Plansbook (the book that ties it all together) was over 140 pages. Not bad for a bunch of college kids eh?

I was going to promise myself that I wasn’t going to post this morning. I have my last presentation of College in a couple of hours, but I’m not really feeling like working on it…I’ll tell you why.

I just got my new iPod Shuffle from work, so I’m checking that out this morning. As I left the house I just dumped my 5 Star playlist out of iTunes onto the little guy, and have been jamming out in the my favorite coffee shop (Milton’s!!!!) this morning.

Oh wait, I’m getting ahead of myself, time for a little set up…..As I got out of the car this morning the rain that the girlfriend told me was coming hit like a mother-fucker. Luckily I had her umbrella and my jacket….so I’m only a little soggy….but anyways…

As I was sitting here wondering whether or not to post, Debussy’s Claire De Lune dropped on my iPod. Needless to say a wave of emotions dealing with past 4 years hit like a maelstrom, and all of the sudden the rain stopped and the sun attempted to peak out. Everything from sitting in music theory class at WSU (when I first heard Debussy), to all of my wonderful experiences here at Lawrence washed over me.

So, what does this all mean? No clue. I just know that I am one of the most lucky individuals in the world to have the friends I have, the loved ones I cherish, and the experiences and opportunities I have had. Do I believe in fate, a little, do I believe in the power of “Shuffle,” always…

So if you are one of those friends, family or loved one (not mutually exclusive) thank you for helping make my college experiences one of the most gratifying experiences of my life.

I graduate in a little over a week…I’m ready to go, but I will genuinely miss the friends I have made here. For instance, the coffee girls who know my order and treat me so nicely they even gave me a smile of “it has been fun,” this morning. I also filled my “buy 10 get one free” card today…how epic is that.

So, thanks again to everyone.

And just to prove that shuffle works in mysterious ways….next up was a little Rancid to put things into perspective.

Until always….courage.
