Super-post!
July 18th, 2005 | Filed under Blog
So, I’m working hard to get this website up and running…if you experience any technical difficulties, please be patient with your newbie webmaster…Lord knows there are things that I do better than handling a website and trust me keeping guitars in tune isn’t one of the them…more on that later.
I figured I’d drop the bomb on the new blog space with a super-post. (by the way all the highly entertaining posts form yester-year are catologued on right by the month they were written in). I hope you all like the new layout. Considering the original intent of starting a blog was to get a better handle on how the web and such works, moving on from blogger.com (my old hosting site) was a natural progression. Blogger was a really great place to learn the ins and outs of blogging, but in the end was a little limiting in scope. If you are new to blogging and want an easy way to get started rambling blogger out. And be sure to send me an email if you start one. The more the merrier!
Anyway, I just got done purchasing the “matthewkappenman.net” domain name from Godaddy.com. While I may not be the biggest fan of their Superbowl ads, they came highly recommended from a couple of people at work, and I would have to second that recommendation. So, the blog, at least in my mind will finally have some sort of legitimacy and a “real” looking url. Needless to say, I’m more than a little pumped.
And lastly in what has turned out to be an explanation of the site and it’s inner-workings, this entire site has been created using a great little Macintosh application called RapidWeaver. This is an all in one website creation application loaded with templates and themes that you can customize to create a truly unique site of your own. I’m currently using the demo version, which only allows for a site to contain 3 pages, but if it continues to pull it’s weight the full version will be on the way.
So that’s it. Be sure to check back soon for updates, check the photos page, drop me an email via the contact page, and subscribe to the RSS feed on the right side bar. If you don’t know what RSS is, check out the wiki page devoted to it. Trust me, it is worth it…all the cool kids are doing it.
p.s. coming soon a podcast….who knows, maybe buck, harper and I (as well as anyone else who can use skype) could team up for one.
so for old time sake…courage.
