I love Vinyl

Shock, I’m back already.
I’ve been spending most of the past two mornings digitizing one of my Dad’s old records, and burning it to CD. Even though it is a rather tedious process, I whole heartily enjoy it. While I probably only have around 50 or 60 records, and I listen to most of them in their digital form there is nothing I love more than searching record shops for inexpensive (and sometimes really expensive) musical treasures and then coming home and playing them in their original format. Call me nostalgic, but there is just something about listening to the same music my parents listened to, on the actual format they listen to it on.
Then again, I’m sitting here dumping it to CD so they can still listen to it being that the don’t have a record player anymore. Oh how things change.
So, give vinyl another chance dear readers…the smell alone of a record store is something to be cherished. My personal fav is the Love Garden in scenic downtown Lawrence.
