Manhattan Murder Mystery

October 14th, 2005 | Filed under Reviews

I don’t care how messed up Woody Allen’s personal life is I can’t help but be infatuated with his films. In
Manhattan Murder Mystery
Allen once again teams up with Allie Hall / Manhattan co-star Diane Keaton as well as Allen Alda and then “little guy” Zach Braff, as Keaton and Allen’s son.

The film is a classic Allen picture complete with great jazz music, random NYC locations, and a crazy plot about a neighbor’s death. The film is probably one of the few flicks that actually makes me nervous when the characters (especially Keaton) are sneaking around attempting to uncover the plot. Allen’s specific visual style works in an almost Hitchcockian manner, always making the audience feel like danger is just around the corner.

The movie is not going to reveal the meaning of life, or save your soul, but it will however make you laugh and just a little bit jumpy. Check it out, it is definetly worth a rental.
