Ladies and gentlemen…we have officially entered the twilight zone.

Even though the holiday falls this year on a Sunday, when churches normally host thousands for worship, pastors are canceling services, anticipating low attendance on what they call a family day. -CNN

So sorry to interrupt your rampant consumerism for a little bit of what the day is supposed to be all about you people who close your churches on Christmas!! These churches should be open, if for no other reason than on principle.

Personally, some of my fondest Christmas memories are piling into the car to drive the 15 miles from my grandparents house to the little country catholic church in Dimock, SD. It is really sad that people who are supposedly christians aren’t doing the same. I’m not saying that Christmas hasn’t turned into something more than the celebration of religious figure, but it just weirds me out that church goers wouldn’t want to be at church on that day.

Call me crazy, but I always thought christ+mas had something do with church. Not trying to force any beliefs on people, I just can’t believe a christian church would close its doors on Christmas. As uncle bob would say “the times they are a-changing.”
