We used to be good at things.

Sorry, I feel like my other wise reliable rss feeds have been taken over by the onion.com. Who says Kansas isn’t good at science. We (KU) discovered helium!!!!! (in natural gas)

“McFarland and chemistry professor H.P. Cady used the University’s liquid air machine in Bailey Hall, the only such machine west of the Mississippi River, to discover the presence of helium in the gas. The machine liquefied air by cooling it to minus-310 degrees Fahrenheit.” – The University Daily Kansan

See, we weren’t always scientifically stupid. Okay, I promise to cut off the update flood that has been today. Via the UDK.

Until next time….courage.
