One of those days…

Some mondays it doesn’t pay to get out of bed, and today was no exception. While I actually woke up completely refreshed and ready to start another week in the run-up to Christmas holiday, the rest of the events of my day weren’t exactly feeling the same “start of the week” pizzazz.

This morning while making a quick run by the bank for the girlfriend I noticed that lovely heat gage on the my truck start to quickly rise and hit the red zone. I managed to quickly pull over and shut off the engine before it managed to overheat, but it looks I might have a “real” problem. I was able to make it to the officee and refill the fluid level, but it looks like I might be losing a little (read a lot!) bit of fluid from a leak…bummer #1.

What is bummer #2 you might ask…well, after several very helpful emails from Jimmy V and a phone call from our pervious ISP it turns out that we (my employer) do not in fact own the router we are currently using (a kick-ass netopia one which we are currently leasing), and it doesn’t appear that a cheap-o, yet surprisingly robust, one will do the job either. The best part? That the lovely folks at sunflower.com (our new ISP and the one that yanks me around with my home account) neglected to call me back today about finding a replacement. Needless to say tomorrow, when they show up to install our new service they are going to have some questions to answer. :)

Insult to injury? Well, the girlfriend’s car in currently in the shop, and Harper just called (literally) to say that his front bumper just got ripped off my somebody driving through the parking lot where he works. I guess it is just one of those days…

Update: So, I had my car towed this morning (Tuesday) after it continued to lose coolant. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate cars and love public transit. The bus will take me within a couple blocks of the office…I love the “T.”
