BLOGZOT for SubEthaEdit
April 25th, 2006 | Filed under Apple, Blog, Marketing
Considering that I write the bulk of my HTML and CSS in SubEthaEdit from CodingMonkeys and that I benefitted from the last MacZOT BLOGZOT, I figured it was civic interweb duty to join the cause.
Basically, MacZOT is a web site that promotes Mac specific software at a good discount. Every once in a while they do a BLOGZOT which basically is a psuedo-contest in which they challenge the Mac blogging community to post about their deals, and in return they knock 5 cents off the price of the software. Last time the application ended up being free, and I was able to snag of copy of the lovely appzapper.
Anyway, I’ve been told that in the end MacZOT and TheCodingMonkeys will be giving away over $105,000 in Mac software today if the price gets down to zero. This post alone will be worth $166.67 to the mac community, so does this count as community service then? :)
Do yourself a favor and check out BLOGZOT 2.0 on MacZOT.com.
p.s. This is why I love the marketing of the blog/mac community. Everyone is just trying to help everyone else out. MacZOT gets links, SubEthaEdit gets a ton of press, and a bunch of users get access to new software that they can tell their friends about. All very post-cluetrain marketing ideas.
Update: I got my serial number from MacZot this evening. Thanks to both MacZOT and the guys at codingmonkeys for the great software.
