I love editing

I made some serious progress tonight on a couple of the wedding videos I’m doing for friends. Nothing is better than when you sit down, have an editing epiphany, and cut up a one minute sequences in under half-an-hour. It gives me the same feeling as when I’m playing music and everything just clicks. Sorry it has taken so long, but I promise I’m working hard for you Emily/Frank, Tiffany/Paul and now Katie/Dain!
p.s. I need to edit more non-work-related stuff. I love my job, but it requires me to be almost surgical in my approach to editing audio and video. I need more organic stuff to cut. Something where the cameraman’s mistake turns into the cornerstone of the entire edit…just like tonight. Now, I just need to write more good ideas and film ‘em!

I would just like to say that there wasn’t a lack of cornerstones on my tape. My stuff looked like a 12 year old shot it. I really need to pick up a camera once in a while. I’ve lost the little touch i once had.

I feel your pain. Remember when we used to lug around a 20 pound camera and shoot great footage almost everyday. We used to be good then…really good. I need to practice more.
