The (Steve and) Daniel Tosh Show

My brother, Steve, loves stand up comedy and more importantly the comedy of Daniel Tosh. So yesterday he drove up and we went to a special midnight showing of Tosh’s act.
I know what you are thinking…why a midnight showing of comedians act? Well, the venue for the event, the Majestic Theatre, has a general policy of 21+ due to the fact that they serve alcohol at the theatre. Apparently they had enough interest from the 18+ crowd (which contains Steve as he is only 20) to have another special showing at midnight. While it made for a pretty late evening we made the 45 minute trek from Lawrence up to the Zona Rosa shopping center in KC, MO. Steve of course being a much bigger fan than I traveled all the way up from Hutchinson to see the show. All told it was an 8 hour round trip in 24 hours for him. Can you tell that us Kappenman’s are the dedicated fans? :)
We arrived rather early not knowing exactly where the event would be held. Steve really wanted to get there ahead of schedule as he missed the last Daniel Tosh show in Manhattan because his friends had made them too late to see the show. This time that wasn’t going to happen, so we got there extra early.
It paid off as we got to sit in the front row and enjoy the show up close and personal. Steve even had the courage throw out some one liners that made Tosh laugh and he tossed them into the act. Let’s just say it had something to do with a hotel room and a black-light. My brother is hilarious.
Here is a great pic I snapped of Steve and Daniel after the show when he was signing autographs. The man was very gracious and stood around signing autographs at 1:30 am, after doing 3 shows, for anyone who wanted one. This guy understands how to please his fans.

Check out Tosh’s live CD from Amazon or iTunes, but be prepared…like most comedians he is more than a little offensive…which made the evening all the more fun. Although it was way past my bedtime (and by the looks of it Tosh’s) it was great night of comedy and brotherly bonding that was long over due. Thanks again for coming up Steveo, and we should definitely do that kind of stuff more often.
p.s. We had the chance to watch two World Cup games this weekend which rocked as both grew up playing soccer. Tomorrow the US plays at 11 a.m. central time so get excited for what I hope will be a big US victory!
