		<description>That should be a nice machine to house your backup functions.
Ubuntu also has some nice network file sharing protocols to connect to it on the fly.
I think I&#039;m using Samba to create SMB shares on the Ubuntu box, which as I remember wasn&#039;t too hard to set up, and then you can use apple + k on the mac to connect to it:
smb://ip.of.machine/share/point

AFP wasn&#039;t too bad either to get going using Netatalk

Just FYI if you didn&#039;t have experience with that stuff yet.
Also, I got a new job working at the Academic Resource Center at KU, doing database and web applications, which I&#039;m very excited about.
