KC has highest transportation costs

“Most Kansas Citians certainly love their cars, and they pay dearly for it. In fact, the average Kansas Citian spends more of their income on transportation than all other Americans, even more than what they spend on housing. We spend 33% of our incomes on transportation vs. 23% on housing. In other words, we spend more on our cars than on our homes.”

This is why if I’m going to stay in Lawrence until the gf graduates there is no way i’m going to take a job in KC and commute. Besides my current employer treats me right.
p.s. Instead of boasting how many miles of freeways exist in the Metro area, KC should just change their slogan to; “KC. We have sprawl. You like driving an insane distance to work? Then we’ve got you covered.”
