I wasn't offended - that's what the emoticon was for...

I am, most definitely on the right, but it's far more center-right than right-center, so to speak.

I too make a point of reading people who don't look at the world the way I do.

Sometimes my head explodes, but that's why the wallpaper is vinyl.

And the only reason I gently prodded was because I know *exactly* what it's like to make the snap judgement based on the template.

But I wasn't offended, just suffering from my usual bemusement, I assure you!

Cheers,

John

John,

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, and no offense was intended.

I believe a link to someone else's site to be a tacit admission that I agree with what that blogger(s) has to say. While I can say I've really enjoyed reading through your site (I'm sure you'll notice all the hits from Lawrence), I wanted to delineate the difference between the content of your specific post and the content of your general site for my readers.

Personally, I enjoyed your site and the very conversational writing style that was contained in your live-blog. I have since subscribed to your RSS feed as I whole heartily enjoy reading and absorbing multiple points of view, and I'm always on the look out for more local and regional bloggers to read.

So I apologize if I offended you in regards to my disclaimer. It is something that I have an unwritten rule about when I link to sites with which I feel might not reflect, whether it is political or not, my views. As this is my blog, and more importantly to google my name in the url, I feel that everything I do on the site reflects upon me and the image I present to the world. So in essence I am the gatekeeper of what people perceive about me and my views. Of course making a decision about any site, especially a weblog, is a snap judgement on my behalf as I have not read your entire site and do not fully grasp your opinions upon every issue...however, that editorial control is something that I love about blogging and make very few apologies for.

However, as I said above, I do apologize in regards to my assumptions and if any offense was taken it was not my intention.

Thanks for furthering the online conversation and questioning my use of the disclaimer, and I look forward to continuing to read your site.

p.s. I can't wait to check out the video, very cool of the Dole Center to post that so quickly.

Hey Matt! Happy to be of service - but just *what* do you think my POV is from your probably cursory examination of the site?

I suspect that I don't quite fit the template that your POV filter slapped up from the visuals.

8^)

BTW - the post above the one you linked to has a link to the video archive - so you can watch the whole thing and not have to contaminate yourself (or your fellow readers here) moving amongs the musings of a far more varied blogger than I'm betting you assume...

Cheers,
