Today is one of those good days.
I was asked at work this morning if we could have our green-screened-narrator hold a box and have an image green-screened and tracked over it. By the end of the day I took it one step further and tracked some video on as well. So, I thought I would throw up my test….the key is is very rough, but remember it is a test.
All I was really trying to determine was whether or not we could track the little narrator on the video box I’m holding and have her move realistically. Pay attention to how she moves as I move the box she is playing on. Notice how she rotates and scales up and down to compensate for my movement? I showed my co-workers and they loved it…so success!
p.s. It didn’t hurt that Teressa called and picked me up for lunch…which turned out to be a wonderful picnic in the park. As I said above, today was one of those good days.
My Friend Ben Paints Pretty Pictures
Benjamin has a show coming up on June 7th at Astrokitty Comics in beautiful downtown Lawrence. The show, entitled “Heroes and Villains of a Devoted Youth,” is a showcase of work baised on what else but the comic book, film and video game heroes and villains that we all grew up admiring. Of course you’ll have a chance to purchase some of the work, and even rub elbows with the artist himself.
I chatted with Ben on Friday and he said he had over 20 pieces ready and was in the process of framing them all for show. The girlfriend and I will be there to check out what should be an amazing body of work, hope to see you there too! I mean where else do you get the chance to purchase your very own ewok portrait?
Bike to Work Day

I was planning on biking to work this Friday (today) as the girlfriend no longer needs me to pick her up from campus when her school-to-work schedule was very tight. Now I’m free to take my two wheels the mile-and-a-half to work. It felt terrible in that I wasn’t riding to work more often, so I made sure today would be the day.
Turns out today is National Bike to Work day…so I won’t be the only one. Did I plan on doing it because of the so-called-holiday? No. Coincidence? I think not.
