On Fridays.
Tug, of American Copywriter fame, summed up exactly how I’m feeling this Friday on his personal blog. While I love spending my weekends going back to see the parents, the trade off of missing MY weekend is always painful. It is that lazy morning breakfast, farmer’s market trip, or afternoon-geek-out that reminds of why the weekend matters.
I won’t spoil the effect by re-posting it here, but go check it out just the same. It’ll bring a Friday smile to your face.
Score one for KU’s Legal Dept.
I know I haven’t posted in forever, but the day job and life in general has been a bit hectic. We made it back to Hutch last weekend to attend a lovely wedding (congrats Adam and Amanda) as well as deliver the truck back to my folks and haul a car load up to Lawrence for my brother Steve. Not to bad for one weekend.
Anyway, the real purpose of this post is to point out that KU is taking UNL’s lead in not forwarding pre-litigation letters to students or releasing the names of students to the RIAA. Now I’m not condoning piracy, but I’m glad that KU is taking a stand against the record labels. Should the letters probably be forwarded? Yes, as it is the RIAA legal right to sue people for stealing their content. However, there is nothing I like to see more than the ol’ Alma Mater standing up and protecting the privacy of students. Here’s to giving it the ol’ College Try.
Also, here is the article from the University Daily Kansan.
One out of a hundred
I gave the gf a a new camera and so far this is the only good picture I’ve managed to take out of around a hundred. While I’m a wiz with video cameras, I’ve got a lot to learn about this little guy.
Sorry for the lack of posts but I’ve been flying under the radar the past couple of weeks. We just wrapped production on two projects which of course means we are already behind on post-production. So next week should be a flurry of edits and comps trying to get ready for a conference the following monday, but oh well…I like to be busy.
I’ll be sure to post more photos soon, but if anyone has any recommendations on digital slr books be sure to drop a line in the comments. I’m viewing this camera as a new exercise in creativity and so far I suck. :)
